Why we are here.

Everyone wants to lose weight and be healthier. Clayton and I (Lisa) have gotten a little bit out of shape since having a baby. We decided that in January we would start trying to be healthier by eating better and exercising regularly. During the holidays, we were talking with some of our family members who wanted to do the same thing. We talked about how hard it was to stay motivated and came up with a way to help us all succeed. Our own version of the "Biggest Loser."

Here is the plan:

The 6 of us will each donate $25 and weigh in by January 1st. We then have till May 1st to lose at least 10% of our body weight. If we are unable to lose 10%, we are charged an additional $10 for each % we are away from our goal. The person who has lost the biggest % of their body weight will be the biggest loser and win the prize money.

Each week everyone will weigh in and we will post the % of weight lost on this blog for those of you who would like to follow along and cheer us on.

This is not only about losing weight but becoming healthier and happier with ourselves.

Let the games begin.

  1. Yeah for you guys! If it makes you feel any better I have gained 10 pounds in the last two months :). You guys might have to do this again when my pregnancy is over.
    When I lost all that weight this last year I discovered that broth based soup in the winter for lunch is perfect you can get a can for 100 to 200 calories and really low sodium and they really fill you up and then I would have a big bowl of steamed veggies about an hour later it would really feel me and was way low on calories.
    Good Luck!!! If I would have known sooner I would have thrown Jeremy in the pot with you guys.

  2. GO TEAM GUY! I'll be rooting for you...from the couch. Ha ha! Kidding! Jared and I are going to start walking before work to try be healthier! Good luck!!
