Slacking!

I am just posting for everyone to see that Robb and I are slackers and keep forgetting to turn in out wieght. We are both the same as last week...Yes we know we need to get on the ball. We keep working hard for a few days and then slack off again. So our percentages are the same! :) I am afraid this week might not be much better with Easter, Spring Break, and Robb's Birthday, but we are still trying!

Hitting a wall!

So I have hit a wall. I am not losing any weight but I am not gaining any either (which is nice). I am doing fine with eating less but I am having a hard time finding time to exercise. I know I just need to do it but I am having a lack of motivation. I am hoping that as the weather is getting nicer I will be able to do more outside.

I am happy for all of you that have hit your 10% though. I will get there one day.

Getting Back On Track

Clayton and I had a fun weekend but one that was not conducive to dieting. First, we went out to dinner for Valentine's Day. Then, my brother's girlfriend got baptized and we had two family parties (complete with treats) to celebrate. Lastly, it was my brother's birthday which all the family went out to dinner for. With all of that happening, I am actually surprised that we both didn't gain more weight than we did. So hopefully we can get back on track this week. Our new exercise bike is arriving today so that should help. That way I can still work out at home when I don't have a chance to go to the gym. I can also do homework while working out.

This is going to be me soon.

Are we there yet?

Do you ever get that question on a trip from you kids only moment after you have left and you still have a long trip ahead of you? Well, this is one time that I am not even ready to ask that. I just want to give a shout out to all of us for this last month and the huge accomplishments we have all made in weight loss. It has only been one month and look at where we are!!!
Today I hit my 10% mark and I am now half way to my ultimate goal...all in one month. I am so excited for the few months a head and where we will all be!
I am crossing my fingers the weight comes off as quick this next month!
Good job everyone.
Oh, and don't eat to much cake tonight at Emmy's party!

Maxwell's motivation.

As exercise becomes more important, because dieting alone seems to bring less resutls, I like this Maxwell Quote. "The Spirit can drive the flesh beyond where the body first agrees to go."

Week 3 totals

Congratulations to us all. We are all doing great. I personally am feeling better, regardless of how much weight I have lost. I guess that is the goal.

Here are the totals:

Starr: 8.13%
Robb Jr.: 6.19%
Robb Sr.: 2.84%
Clayton: 6.03%
Lisa: 4.16%

Starr you are kickn' our butts. Way to go.

Low Fat, Low Calorie Zucchini Bread

Here is a great receipt that I came up with that not only tastes good but is fairly healthy and only 100 calories for a 1 inch slice.

4 eggs
1 1/3 cup apple sauce
1 1/4 cup zero calorie sugar (like truvia)
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
4 cups flour
1 1/3 tsp baking soda
1 1/3 tsp baking powder
1 1/3 tsp salt
4 tsp cinnamon
4 cups grated zucchini
4 tsp. vanilla

combine sugars, apple sauce and eggs. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Place two cups each of mixture into 4 loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Slice each loaf into 800 slices. Each slice is 100 calories. (Each pan is 800 calories)
Enjoy.
(and if you need zucchini let me know I have bags and bags of shredded zucchini in my freezer.)

What does your drivers license say?

So I am just wondering if anyone else calculates their weight goals like I do? This is what I discovered today:
I am 1 pound away from my "before I got pregnant with Taitt" weight.
11 pounds away from "what I got down to after I had Emalee weight.
17 pounds away from what my drivers license says I should weigh (which I think I told a little white lie about when I entered that info. :)
and I am 23 pounds away from what I was when I got married (which was the skinniest I think I had been since high school.)
I have decide my ultimate goal for for May is my drivers license weight! I figure if I am high then at least I know I will get to one of the other two marks and know "I have been there before."

Also, I think it is interesting that although I am 1 pound from "before Taitt" weight, my pants still don't fit! Why is that? As I get older all my weight seems to be shifting down!

Happy dieting, It will all be worth it in the end for all of us!

A great soup recipe

So this week Clayton and I tried a new recipe we found on the back of a refried bean can. It was actually really good and low in calories. It does have a little kick to it so I don't know how well kids would like it. We wanted to share it with ya'll.

Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup

2 cans (14.5 ounce each) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chillies
2 cans (14.5 ounce each) Chicken broth
1 can (16 ounce) Rosarita no-fat refried beans
1/2 cup whole kernel corn
2 cups shredded cooked chicken

Combine tomatoes and broth in a saucepan. Stir in beans and corn. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add chicken and heat through.

Top with tortilla chips and cheese.

Make about 10 cups. Serving size is 1 cup. 93 calories per serving (just the soup).

The chips and cheese is where all your calories come in. You can decide how much of those to put on yourself.

I was thinking of trying 1 can tomatoes and chillies and 1 can just tomatoes to see if that takes a bit of the kick out (but Clayton and I like the kick so who knows).

Enjoy!

Not Fair!

Lisa, I totally understand your frustration. Although, so far, I am loosing about the same amount of pounds as Robb he gets to eat far more than me. I am only eating about 1100-1200 calories and I have to exercise for at least an hour to be able to eat more. Robb gets to eat nearly twice that. I keep wondering how come it is so easy to put on the weight but you have to work twice as hard to take it off!
I wish it were warmer too, so we could walk (and be able to take the babies out). Working out on a stationary bike or eliptical is not all that exciting to me. Keep working at it. It is nice to be doing this together and supporting each other.

Trying to keep positive!

Have you all seen the commercial on T.V. about the couple trying to lose weight and how the man is losing it a lot faster than the woman? That is my frustration. Clayton and I eat the same amount of food every day but he is losing weight faster than me. It is just not fair.
We are using Diet Power too to track our calories too. It does help a lot. I find myself not eating something just because I don't want to log it on the computer. It also help you plan out what you are going to eat in advance. That way, you know how much of something you can eat.
Last week I wasn't able to get to the gym like I had hoped. Things just came up. This week I am making it a priority and am going to go. I haven't been since before I was pregnant. I hope I still know where it is :)

Our Results - Week 1

Here are the results of the total % of weight lost so far:

Starr- 4.38 %
Robb Jr.- 3.10 %
Robb Sr.- 2.08 %
Clayton- 2.57 %
Lisa- 1.41 %

Congratulations Starr!! Keep up the good work everyone!

How to get a flat...stomach that is!

Robb and I decided to use Diet Power again. We went the first week trying to do it on our own but on Wednesday we decided to load Diet Power onto our computer. It works great and is keeping us on track. We plugged in where we want to be by our goal date and the computer program tells us how much to eat to get to that goal. I am on track with the computers projects...if Robb would eat what it tells him he would be too :)....Let's just say he is trying to get back on track. Anyway, we recommend it. Oh yeah, also a little trick, if you take a multivitamin it really helps to manage your wieght and keep you balanced as you diet!
